TalksAtSix Special: Climate Emergency Film Showing

the narrator of this film

How bad is the growing climate emergency and in reality, what mitigating steps could citizens take that might prove an effective help?

In August we do not generally have talks. However, on August 27th this year we are teaming up with Transition Town Chichester to present a special screening of the film THE PEOPLE’S EMERGENCY BRIEFING.

Narrated by naturalist/TV presenter Chris Packham, the film sets out in bite-size chunks both the severity of various climate-based risks facing the nation – and what credible, positive responses have the best hopes of alevieating the problems. Each factor can be followed up with more detailed online versions that you can watch at home, but this hard-hitting, condensed version is a powerful call to action for us all.

Doors open at 5.30pm, the film starts at 6pm and lasts around 50 mins. After which there’s a brief spoken update about the political action that the film has already triggered, along with a suggestion for audience members to nudge the authorities to help make a difference.

Even if you can’t come, you might like to sign and share Chris Packham’s petition asking the Government to give us clear national briefings on the scale of the risks related to the climate and nature breakdown.
